"Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit." (Catechism of the Catholic Church.) It is the first of three Sacraments of Initiation, the other two being Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist. Through Baptism, as with the other six Sacraments, we encounter the Living Christ in his passage from death to new life. By this encounter, we are freed from the power of sin and death, become members of Christ's Body, the Church, and so rise to new life and to a new way of living.
Congratulations to all parents and parents to be. At least one parent must attend a Baptism Preparation class before the baptism of their child. We encourage both parents and godparents to attend. Baptism classes will be held after the 10 AM Sunday Mass on:
June 10, 2012
September 9, 2012
November 11, 2012

Each month the students of our Pre-Confirmation Group participate in a community building activity that helps in illustrating the importance of a strong parish community. These events range from movie night, when the young people watch a spiritually provoking movie, eat pizza, and then participate in an open discussion about the film. In past months the group has participated in "Lock-Ins," when the young people spend the evening participating in community building team games, like soccer, kickball, or basketball. These "Lock-Ins" are not solely based on fun and games; they are also a time when the young people spend time in prayer and reflection within the confines of a community of their peers who are preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. Throughout the rest of the school year the "Pre-Confirmation Group" will be participating in these activities and many more!
Any Post Confirmation Youth, who are interested in helping out with these events, please contact Dan Miller!
